Other than the Children’s and Teen departments, the original library building is now given over to exhibition space, various readers’ services, and administrative offices. But despite changes in function, the Goodhue Building’s main floor has been preserved and those elements which were modernized over the years have undergone a careful restoration. Three contiguous areas of the main level contain most of the important art and decorative design.
